Troubleshooting & Repair
The symptom tells us where to start, the meter tells us what is wrong, and the repair is done one time.

The breaker that keeps dropping may be protecting a circuit whose real problem sits at a worn joint well away from where you notice it. An outlet that seems dead may simply sit after a protective receptacle that has tripped somewhere else, often in a bathroom. A flicker might be a bulb, a cheap dimmer, or a loose neutral that needs fixing soon.
This is the work we enjoy most. We put the circuit under load, open the boxes most likely to be the culprit and keep following the wire until the cause is staring back at us. Before any repair you get our findings and a price, along with a word about anything else that looked suspect.
If the problem comes and goes, keep a quick note of the time, the appliances in use and the weather each time it acts up. That short list often turns an afternoon of testing into a quick fix.
Most troubleshooting visits end with the fault fixed before we leave. When the cause turns out to be bigger, like a failing panel or damaged cable in a wall, you get a written scope and price before anything else happens.
The usual suspects and how we handle them.
Load measured and terminations checked to see why the breaker keeps acting.
Followed box by box to the open joint or tripped protective device.
Loose neutrals, bad dimmers and voltage drop checked from fixture to panel.
Overheating receptacles and switches replaced and the joint behind them repaired.
The appliance or wiring fault behind them isolated and sorted.
Dark sections traced to the panel or service, utility involved if it is their side.
Loose lugs, worn breakers and heat damage found and fixed.
What failed and what the repair costs, before we do it.
When it happens and what was on. That often points straight to the fault.
We load-test and follow the circuit until we find the cause, usually inside an hour or two.
With your OK on the price, we repair it and test again under the conditions that caused it.
We do not swap components hoping the symptom stops.
You know the cost before the repair.
If one failure hints at others, we say where.
Tell us what happens and when. We will track it down and price the fix before we make it.
